I'm not sure what geometric model they use to store the 3D data, but I believe it is simply tesselated 3-sided polygons. As for the details….I am working on a project with two other colleagues who created polygons in google earth. KML stands for Keyhole Markup Language (Keyhole was the name of the application before Google bought it and added their own features and larger databases). i have converted those lat n long to (x,y) co-ordinates . PowerPoint does not accept kmz files so I would like to convert it to an avi file but every converted I have tried so far does not work. If you are asking about the Google Earth Community layer version of your file, that layer is updated about once every 30 - 60 days.

So why would I ever have to do a File, Save My Places? If not, some XML editors might be of help if you have something basic wrong like a missing tag of some sort.
