As far as I know I have already disabled any automatic system backups but this is still going on and it started ever since I installed the Technical Windows 10 Previews. So, In the last 2 days, I deleted many excess programs, but disk space kept changing anyway.
Before posting on our computer help forum, you must register. just a simple guess, cause im not too professional with these things and i think ive used these treesize things before. Besides downloading/installing the things I needed, I also did Disk Cleanups where I got rid of of my Windows.old files (XP and Vista). Hmmm.
I wouldn't have found this otherwise. I enjoy learning about some tech things and as long as I can get back to point A without losing or damaging anything, I'm good. Where exactly am I supposed to direct the command prompt to so I can clean up the Installer folder? It is the OEM hard drive and is about two years old.
What's most helpful is that it is sorted by decreasing disk space; the biggest consumers of space are at the top. My os is windows 8.1.... i had tried all suggestion such as empty recycle bin, uninstall program, disk clean up. and also i left the thought to flash my bios..
Here's the Windows folder expanded: You can see right away that the "winsxs" folder contains the most data of all the sub folders within C:\Windows. (This is normal, by the way.)
